A short post just to say that this blog will be on hiatus for an indefinite time. Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2017 and beyond.

  1. I’ve enjoyed reading your thoughts on science and more. I hope that we’ll see you on here again in the future.

  2. It’s sad someone with your devotion to reason and to evidence based and self-critical observation feels pushed to this level.

A few years ago one could glibly say it is just the workings of some aggressive and undesirable misfits online, but it has become far, far bigger than that. Brexit, and Trump… along with a whole climate of this show it has become a potent social force. It has now become obvious that what started with Islamism was just one face of a multifaceted hydra of online ideological mountebacks offering ruinous cures for those who, for whatever reason, feel displayed from modern society.

I don’t wish to sound melodramatic, but I fear for the future right now, as this kind of thinking rebounds around the world. I can’t help but feel the world is ripening for very bad things indeed to happen. I hope I am proved wrong.

  3. Sorry to hear about everything related to your hiatus. /:

You were one of my favorite voices in this general part of the internet, hope things go well for you.
